come back to me

just wanted to write a quick little post...life has been super busy this past month! first was sakura-con, then starting a new job, plus moving to a temporary apartment at the same time! i'm nearly done moving after two weeks...*sigh* had to get things fixed that they left undone, then actually move. now i'm down to odds and ends, my bed, and fridge. the fridge in the temp apartment makes a horrible rattling noise, so they were supposed to get rid of it today and move the fridge from my apartment in...yeah, didn't happen. >_< the building manager is gonna be so happy when i tell her monday...

anyway. the other exciting news is that i received two boxes from korea today! i received my iple clothing order a month ahead of what i expected and a rather large box from soom. two weeks after i paid off victoria, they shipped her out! :D she's a bronze vesuvia! <3 soooooooo happy to have her! plus the bronze will indeed work beautifully for what i have planned. oh, on top of that, she has all three sets of feet! complete surprise since soom is only sending the fantasy parts with the special order dolls. by that logic and what i gather they have said, she should have only had the partial feet and scorpion high heel shoes. instead i was so happy to find that she had those as well as both high heel and flat feet! :D yay!!! now i can spend a fortune on shoes!!!! XD

i am now older

tick tock goes the clock and i get older until it stops.

azhrafael the fallen

this past weekend i got to visit with kasa and she asked i do an impromptu shoot of her sard, azhrafael. i obliged and here are the selected photos from the shoot. there are a few repeats as i played around with colors, i just wanted to post them all here. enjoy! ^_^

amber finally completed!

so it ended up taking me about three days...after a year and about five months since her arrival. -_- anyway, i used an airbrush for the first time ever when doing her. my application to a 3-d surface leaves something to be desired, but i did as well as i expected. had to redo everything, though, since the first attempt i was trying stuff out and being lazy by the end. yeah...anyway, everyone who has seen her face and commented has said how much they really like her. :D on top of that, now that i have her restrung, she's standing better and more solidly than before, and her arms are holding better. i know it is a combination of tightening her stringing some and the msc, but the modification that i made to her knees (especially the right one) have helped immensely and she is standing pretty much like a rock. :) so happy to finally have her done...and a special thanks again to her "fairy godmother" miss ally for helping me to obtain her two years ago now (has it really been that long?)!

...okay, not really...this is just more of a quickie update on things.

amber arrived on the 30th after a short detour over the weekend to visit miss ally in dc. she's so awesome for helping me with getting amber and for quickly shipping her over to me after the snafu! as for amber...(<3)

my eternal enemy...

usps is proving yet again that they are my eternal enemy. currently amber is somewhere in the us. no clue where. she shipped a few days ago from soom and, well, the tracking kinda stops there. the korean ems site shows that it has reached jfk. the usps site says that it is being processed by the office of outward exchange in korea. yeah. no clue. as for why she went to jfk, i don't know. i don't even know if that is really where she actually went. or even if she is still there. she's guaranteed for delivery by monday and, at this point, i think i'll be lucky to get her then. :(

myth dark as night

my heliot arrived on the 11th! :D six months after ordering and now he's home. i've had plenty of time to worry about if i'll like him or not, if i made a mistake ordering him with a faceup on the r. head only or at all...in the end, it's all worth it.

right now he still has no name, his oe head is probably going to end up as another doll but i'm not sure yet, and i've not had time to work on him beyond wig and eyes...but he's still lovely! getting used to the soom jointing system is happening slowly as i realize that i've been a bit spoiled with the wonderful poseability of all my cp dolls. he's wonderful though! i'm completely in love with him. :) *pets heliot in her lap* hopefully i'll have more time to work on him in a few weeks...

it's been a while...

so it's been a while since i last put anything here. i've been kinda busy and then lazy when i'm not. hmm...let's see...i need to put up a year one photo as february 21 marked one year since winter and azerian arrived. at the moment, azerian is off to england for a faceup, i've finally got eyes for him, and his body shipped out just after midnight my time from fairyland. i'm very VERY excited to see him coming together. :) along with his body will be arriving a dreaming vamp moon head and a 2008 juri head. neither has a name and i'm pretty sure the juri will be the companion to my heliot. also, chester's body will be home soon as well as it shipped out to bunnie in the last week as well.

an observance or two...

people are retarded.

today has been a horrible day. the culmination of a stressed out weekend.

it's really wonderful when people don't know how to do things that they should have learned how to do in high school at the least. things that i learned in elementary school. things that aren't really all that hard to understand. things that i shouldn't get a response of "it's the same thing" when it really isn't.

reemergance of the gloomkitty

so, this past week hasn't been all that great. for anyone really what with the economy, congress still not agreeing on a stimulus package, and everything else happening in the world. in my small corner of it, things are looking pretty grim after this past week. my work has finally been hit directly by the economic downturn, so they let some people go. thankfully i'm not one of those people, but it's all the more disturbing when i had a dream two nights before where i was at work (some people and things the same, some different...you know how dreams are) and a person who was apparently a manager walked up and told two people to get out. they then proceeded to talk to my remaining department and told us about what had happened and that we hadn't heard any of it from them as it was on the downlow. *sigh* yeah...real wonderful dream followed by real life events. thankfully the company is self-sustaining at this point and, sadly since we're in the turn-around and growing stage, we can't grow thanks to things going that are impairing the company that currently owns us from providing the funding we need. bad enough that we work with banks in various ways...now we don't know what the future will hold. the comfort in this is that i'm fairly certain that i'm okay at this point *knock on wood* as i've got a large portfolio of skills from my years at the company and my department is somewhat specialized. really, there's only four of us and no one else really knows how to do what we do. anyone coming into the work we do would have a huuuuuge amount to learn and would take months to get up to speed (this is based off of what has happened each time we've had a new hire).

*sigh* okay...enough bellyaching about work.

i've been soomed!!!

yup...i fell into the heliot trap...so now i've pushed around a few doll order plans for this month and put my order in on friday. *le sigh* i've no clue who he'll be or anything. so far i think i want his nickname to be eli...short for what, i don't know yet. elias, elian, elliott, eolian, elijah, eliam...i keep coming up with more and more...but no clue where he's going character-wise. oh, i'm getting him with a faceup on his romantic head (the one with the horn).

now i just need to order from fairyland next weekend so i can get the juri event head and azerian's body. mostly i just need to get az's body 'cause i now have a spot with lynsey to get him a faceup!!!! :D sooooo freakin' happy about that one. i was in her recent lotto and didn't get pulled...but she ended up opening 10 first come, first served spots a few days later and i got the last one! yeah, my new years day was full of joy. ^_^ so now he needs a body and i think i need to get ready for a dollmore order so the boys have clothes...

also found out yesterday that the planet spirit deneb from last year really was the first monthly zodiac doll (at least, the soom store japan has her posed with the rest of the monthly zodiac dolls...). so now i don't know if they will do another one this year or not which is a little disappointing since i didn't know about her until after (that i recall) so didn't get her and, well, was planning on getting the aquarius doll...maybe they'll do opposite genders this year? *hopes*

a sleepy weekend

so this weekend has been a lazy one, but, sadly, has been ticking past too fast for my liking. i spent most of yesterday doing...something...somehow it was eaten up by finishing crocheting a hat and making a jacket and boots out of felt. probably didn't help that i was on doa a ton and watched something like 6 movies or so. *shrug*

anyways...there's a meet being planned for up north a little in december. i'd love to go, but i need to find out when and where first due to the whole bus thing. hopefully things work out and i can go since it's going to be more of a swap meet/trunk show type thing. i've been trying to figure out making bags this week with felt, so i'd like to maybe have a bunch of different types/sizes made up by then to see what kind of interest there'd be in them. dunno. we'll see.
